GRWA has completed the installation and commissioning of a new batch of industrial 3D printing equipment. The new equipment complements the factory’s established casting, tooling and machining capabilities, supporting low-volume customization, rapid prototyping and complex-part manufacturing for automotive, motorcycle and truck applications.
The newly introduced industrial additive manufacturing line includes dedicated platforms for metal additive manufacturing and high-performance composite processing. Depending on project requirements, equipment configuration and qualified process parameters, the platforms can support additive manufacturing with stainless steels, titanium alloys and selected high-temperature alloys, as well as processing of engineering polymers and carbon-fiber-reinforced engineering polymers. Application areas include exhaust and intake components, structural and functional parts, appearance parts, jigs and fixtures, and low-volume spare parts for legacy or discontinued vehicle models. Compared with conventional tooling-first production, additive manufacturing can reduce upfront tooling requirements, help shorten prototype validation cycles and enable faster design iterations.
For metal applications, GRWA will focus on merge collectors, complex exhaust manifolds, turbo-side downpipe sections, irregular transition pipes (Z-pipes and X Y-pipe ), exhaust valve bodies and premium exhaust-tip inserts. These components often involve limited installation space, complex internal passages or multiple welded sections. Where appropriate, 3D printing can simplify the structure, improve design flexibility and reduce the number of welded joints.
Non-metal applications include airboxes, air ducts, aerodynamic development parts, production fixtures and composite tooling. For larger parts such as front lips, side skirts and rear diffusers, 3D printing may be used together with carbon-fiber composite manufacturing for customized and small-batch projects.
With the new equipment in operation, GRWA is further integrating CAD and reverse engineering, Design for Manufacturability and Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFM/DfAM) review, printing, post-processing, assembly and inspection. Each project will be evaluated according to material, size, temperature, load, volume and regulatory requirements to determine the most practical and economical route: conventional manufacturing, additive manufacturing or hybrid production.
Global customers are invited to submit CAD files(including STEP, STP, IGES, STL and other formats), physical samples or scan data. GRWA’s engineering team will recommend project-specific materials, processes, post-processing and delivery solutions.
